A rarity: Nebbiolo, the grape of Barolo, grown in Uruguay. Bodega Casa Grande Arte & Viña, in Canelones, makes this 100% Nebbiolo and ages it 16 months in new French oak barrels. The name recalls the novel “One, No One and One Hundred Thousand” by Italian writer Luigi Pirandello. Garnet red with brick glints, bright and clear. The nose is intense and complex, with leaves, candied fruit, pepper and a minty touch. The palate is dry, with good acidity, firm tannins, ripe fruit, earthy notes and a long, spicy finish with bitter cocoa. 12% ABV. Pairs with mushroom risotto, meat slow-cooked in red wine and glazed pork ribs. Serve at 18–20 °C.
