Costa Arente Recioto DOCG 2021 - 500ml

Recioto is the sweet red of Valpolicella and the ancestor of Amarone: the grapes are dried before fermentation and part of the sugar stays in the wine. This one from Costa Arènte uses Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella and ages 2 years in second-use French oak barrels, stirred often. It comes in a 500 ml bottle. Deep ruby with violet glints. The nose shows ripe red and black fruit, spice, cocoa and chocolate. The palate is sweet and full-bodied, with ripe tannins, balanced acidity and a long finish of liquorice, cocoa and chocolate. 12.5% ABV. Pairs with dark chocolate desserts and strong cheeses, or sip it on its own as a meditation wine. Serve at 16–18 °C.
