First: four questions before you choose
1. Does the person already drink wine? If so, what do they usually order? A full-bodied red, a white, a sparkling wine? A quick look at their Instagram photos or a casual question to someone close to them will do the trick.
2. What's the occasion? Birthday, thank-you, dinner at someone's home, Christmas, corporate gift. Each one calls for a different style (see below).
3. To drink now or to keep? A wine for that night's dinner is different from a wine for someone to save for a special date.
